I was at a playdate with my daughter.
Kids scooting around, building sand castles, snacks.

And at the same time,
I was planning my trip to Seoul.

Places to go.
Food to eat.
Routes to take.

But here’s the difference.

I wasn’t thinking about it.
ChatGPT was.

So I could still sit there,
watch her play,
respond when she called me,
be present in the moment.

Last time, planning a trip meant hours of research,
tabs open, mind somewhere else.

This time,
the planning happened in the background.

And I got something back that I didn’t realise I was losing.

My attention.

Technology gets a bad reputation when it comes to parenting.
But maybe it’s not about removing it.

Maybe it’s about using it in a way
that gives us back what matters.
